The Role
The successful applicant should have an excellent knowledge of the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum. You should be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a highly supportive environment. Flexibility and teamwork within a District High School context is integral to this role, which may include some teaching in other subject areas.
The successful applicant will ideally exhibit high standards of professionalism, and embrace opportunities for collaboration. You should have effective interpersonal skills and foster positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including students, staff, and community members. You should engage in reflective practice, have a strong evidence-based teaching approach, and should be committed to whole-school pedagogical approaches. Effective classroom management, the ability to differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and promote an environment of active and positive learning are also a strong focus for the position.
