School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement (SSEN:BE) is looking for a visionary leader who is relationship focused, highly motivated, reflective and innovative. They will display the capacity to lead within a vibrant learning community and will utilise their high-level skills and monitoring processes to support the Teacher Behaviour Professional Practice (TBPP) team. Ideally, you will have an excellent knowledge of the TBPP field of work including Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), Western Australian Positive Behaviour in Schools (WA PBS) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and possess the ability to lead a learning culture that strengthens the ongoing capacity of the team.
SSEN:BE is part of the network of specialist schools that operates under the Statewide Services pillar of Service Delivery. SSEN:BE provides educational support and services with schools for students who present with extreme, complex and challenging behaviours across a Kindergarten to Year 12 context. A continuum of consultative services including professional learning, consultative support and direct and indirect student support is delivered through Engagement Centres and the Midland Learning Academy (MLA). These services are coordinated through SSEN:BE which provides the administrative structure that oversees and manages these services as a statewide model of supports for schools, teachers, and students. The services complement other teams working in networks, regions, and schools, supporting a greater number of students across the State. Support is available across the public school system.

The Role
The Program Coordinator – Behaviour Professional Practice will:
- In collaboration with the Principal and members of the executive team, provide educational leadership by developing and promoting the vision and goals of SSEN:BE
- Create, implement and monitor the TBPP Operational Plan and effective change strategies; lead and develop opportunities for improved service in the areas of CMS, WA PBS and MTSS
- Provide advice and consultancy relating to positive student behaviour, including conducting relevant research and identifying and promoting best practice
- Provide professional support and planning with schools and networks for promoting positive student behaviour, including designing, monitoring, analysing and evaluating programs and related professional learning
- Facilitate workforce planning and effectiveness to improve the teams’ professional practice
- Enhance and lead administrative and operational systems within TBPP to ensure the effective operation of SSEN:BE within departmental policy and guidelines
- Manages programs, curriculum and/or portfolios relating to CMS, WA PBS and MTSS
- Liaises extensively with the Principal, Associate Principal and relevant specialist staff
- Undertake, create and facilitate professional learning, if required.
