We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Located in Hammond Park, Jilbup Primary School (PS) is a new school opened in 2024, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. With state-of-the-art facilities Jilbup PS provides an inclusive learning environment for students to reach their full potential, both socially and academically. Our school has a Specialized Learning Program - Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to support children with ASD to successfully access mainstream education. Our facilities include purpose-built science, art and music rooms, expansive oval, playing courts and a contemporary library and information centre.

The Role
The ability to work independently, and at times without supervision; and the ability to think on your feet and use your initiative to manage challenging behaviours are highly desirable. Applicants with experience working with special needs students, in particular students with ASD, are encouraged to apply. Suitable applicants should show excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills as well as work in a highly collaborative manner in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
