The Role
Suitable applicants should consistently use evidence-based teaching and learning practices that prioritise the reflective use of data and embedded differentiation to support all students. Teachers at Yanchep Rise PS should adopt high impact teaching strategies and use ongoing formative assessment to provide feedback to students at the point of error, measure student progress, differentiate teaching and plan next steps in learning.
In partnership with families, we promote our school RISER values of Respect, Integrity, Safety, Excellence and Resilience. We strive to achieve the highest standards for each and every child regardless of their starting points. A collaborative team approach ensures individualised and targeted intervention and support to enable every child to reach their full potential. We develop whole school approaches to student engagement through Positive Behaviour Support as an intentional approach to the behaviour curriculum, and we will adopt a sense of responsibility for all students.
Our whole school evidence informed approaches ensure that every child acquires the core literacy and numeracy skills, as well as the knowledge and attitudes required to become confident and competent 21st century learners. A knowledge of the Talk 4 Writing and Sounds Write programs would be desirable. Our school reflects the needs and interests of a contemporary community that is quickly evolving through rapid advances in technology, which brings new and exciting teaching and learning opportunities.
Suitable applicants should be committed to reflective teaching practices through active participation in a culture of professional growth. This includes coaching, classroom observation and feedback as well as teachers who are committed to their own professional learning to ensure they maintain and build on contemporary, evidence-based approaches. The Yanchep Rise PS teaching team contribute to whole school, phase of learning as well as Professional Learning Communities and commit to whole school approaches to teaching and learning. Applicants should desire leadership roles and responsibilities beyond their own classroom. Working together with your peers, you should be committed to building your professional capacity through continuous learning.
Effective relationships and partnerships which promote positive outcomes for students are central to everything we do. Our school will embrace the ethos of 'it takes a village to raise a child'. This ethos drives the thinking of staff and community members as they strive to create a learning environment that produces well rounded citizens on which to build the future of this community. We are seeking teachers with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, which underpin professional and positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community. With effective interpersonal skills, we will work together to achieve the best educational outcomes for our students.
