Rockingham Senior High School Education Support Centre (SHS ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Rockingham SHS ESC is an Independent Public School for students in Years 7-12 with special educational needs and is co-located with Rockingham SHS. The Role
Education Support Teachers will assist in the provision of specialised education support programs and classes, tailored to the needs of small groups of students. They will deliver differentiated teaching and structured learning environments in which the required instructional, curriculum and environmental adjustments support all students to achieve to their potential.
Suitable applicants will ideally be motivated, compassionate, flexible, highly organised, and possess a deep knowledge of pedagogy specific to students with disability. Highly developed classroom management skills are highly regarded, as to create the safe and caring environments needed for optimal learning to take place, as is the use of collaborative planning to support targeted and sustainable behaviour interventions. Suitable applicants should have proficiency in the use of assessment to identify ability, interests, progress and areas for development as well as the ability to develop plans / programs aligned with identified individualised student outcomes. Suitable applicants should possess outstanding communication skills and demonstrate leadership within the classroom and wider community.
