This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2025
South Thornlie Primary School (PS) was first opened in 1976 and has since grown into a vibrant and diverse school with strong community links. South Thornlie PS became an Independent Public School in Term 3 2020.
We currently have a campus of five teaching blocks accommodating Kindy, Pre-Primary, Junior, Middle and Senior classes. Our grounds are well maintained with three large play areas including playgrounds and a sporting oval. There are two enclosed assembly areas, Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) room, Science and Music rooms, Library and a Computer lab. Our school runs a local dental health program and has a Dental Clinic and Out of School Hours (OSH) Club located within the school grounds.

The Role
We are seeking to appoint a passionate, competent, and motivated Italian teacher who will ideally engage with students in the Italian language applying contemporary understandings of best practice around second language acquisition. You will ideally work collaboratively in a small team environment, with all members of the school and, with a wider community to provide quality educational experiences through promoting the school’s vision and strategic directions. You should be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment.
