K-12 CASP Team 3 are seeking to establish a pool of Principal Consultants - Secondary - Curriculum and Assessment - Science for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of December 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for and implements the decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
The Role
The Principal Consultant - Secondary Curriculum and Assessment (Science), manages and provides leadership for the development and review of curriculum, assessment and standards support materials in the area of Science for Years 7-12 with a particular emphasis on Years 7 to 10 Science.
Suitable applicants will facilitate consultation and collaborative processes between school systems/sector, schools and other stakeholder organisations to share ideas and devise common approaches on the implementation of the Authority’s policies and procedures. The Principal Consultant will manage contract writers and associated physical resources, if required, in a manner which meets legislated requirements and provides executive support for advisory committees when required. Suitable applicants will provide high level advice, correspondence and briefings to the Minister, the Board, the Executive Director, education systems and sector as required, and develop and implement moderation processes for the secondary years of schooling and organise, facilitate and coordinate seminars, school visits and information sessions for staff from schools, regions, professional associations, systems and sectors as required.
