We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year, up to the end of term 1, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Dianella Secondary College Education Support Centre (ESC) is a diverse multicultural secondary school that caters for students with disabilities from Year 7 to Year 12. The Role
Suitable applicants should ideally be able to work in a team and collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum as well as reflect on evidence to inform ongoing practice and the development of teaching and learning programmes, explicit teaching, and rich learning experiences. It is desired that suitable applicants should have professional knowledge of special education and should be able to modify curriculum and adjust to meet the students’ individual needs which may include students with Autism Spectrum Disorder or complex behaviours. A suitable applicant would have a good understanding of assessment in areas of literacy, numeracy, and personal and social capabilities. A knowledge of trauma informed practice within a positive education approach would be desirable. We welcome education support generalist applications as well experience as a subject specialist teacher for special needs students.
