Newman Senior High School (SHS) is the Iron Heart of Education in the mining town of Newman in the Pilbara. Our vision and moral purpose is to educate and inspire students to become productive citizens and lifelong learners. We acknowledge and respect the Nyiyaparli traditional owners of the land on which we learn, and the Martu custodians.
We are proud to be an Independent Public School, with a strong School Board supporting the school vision and business plan. Several partnerships and programs support and enrich the learning experiences for students. These include an innovative and engaging School Based Traineeship program in collaboration with BHP, local businesses, and employers. The ‘Follow the Dream Program’ provides support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
