The Role
Darling Range SC, an Independent Public School, is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Arts Media Teacher who can inspire students to engage in curriculum, strive for excellence and is proactive in improving student outcomes. Teachers at Darling Range SC should possess excellent interpersonal skills an ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery and programs within the Arts learning area.
They will ideally have previous experience as a teacher in the Senior School, as well as being flexible and adaptive to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching. An ability and experience in teaching across all year levels from Years 7 to 12 is desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally be expected to teach Media courses across Years 7 to Years 12. Recent experience in teaching the Vocational Education and Training (VET) course CUA20220 Certificate II in Creative Industries – Media would be highly valued. In addition, the ability to teach Visual Art and/or Photography in The Arts learning area would be considered advantageous.
A major focus of the College is also the implementation of Explicit Instruction across all learning areas. Experience using Explicit Instruction in the classroom is not a prerequisite for this position, but the successful applicant should display a willingness to incorporate this into their teaching practice. Knowledge or completion of Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) and Instructional Strategies (IS) professional workshops would also be highly desirable.
