The Role
Lake Gwelup PS is seeking a dedicated Student Support Officer to join their staff.
At Lake Gwelup Primary School we provide a high level of support to our students. We are seeking applicants who are highly motivated, compassionate that can work and relate well to a diverse range of students. As the successful applicant you will form an integral part of the Wellbeing and Engagement Team, assisting in the day to day running of Student Support, ensuring an effective and responsive service for students. This includes supporting individuals and groups of students with mental health, behavioural, social, and emotional support needs through counselling and wellbeing initiatives.
The Student Support Officer will ideally possess a history of reliability and relatability, building and maintaining relationships within the school community and with other key stakeholders, and under direction participate in crisis management and response duties as required to ensure the best outcomes for our students.
As a Student Support Officer, you will assist with administrative processes that ensure a responsive and effective student support service. You will work with the Wellbeing and Engagement Team to assist in developing and introducing support systems and intervention strategies which provide a responsive and effective service for students, their families, and staff. You will ideally need to display exceptional interpersonal skills and possess the ability to develop supportive links between the student, the family, the school and other appropriate agencies in the community. You should be reliable and flexible whilst providing support and effective assistance as part of the Wellbeing and Engagement Team.
