The Role
Denmark SHS is an Independent Public School seeking to appoint a highly competent and enthusiastic Head of Learning Area – Mathematics and Science to join their senior leadership team.
The successful applicant will demonstrate innovation in curriculum leadership, assuming immediate responsibility for working in concert with the variety of specialist teachers in Mathematics and Science to further consolidate a collaborative and cohesive team. The business needs of the school requires that the successful applicant has a strong curriculum background in at least one context in either Mathematics or Science.
The successful applicant will be committed to leading high levels of student engagement, academic and personal achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated. Aligned with the strategic direction of the school, applicants should have strong knowledge and experience of leading high impact teaching and learning strategies within the context of a positive learning environment. Adopting inclusive practices, they will demonstrate the capacity to lead cross-curricula priorities that ensure all students achieve strong academic and personal growth.
Key to this role is that the successful applicant has the demonstrated capacity to build productive working relationships with students, staff and the community; be curious about learning and about learners; be invested in the school; and be reflective of themselves and their practice.
