Of utmost importance are the personal qualities you bring to the role. You value developing positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the wider community. You have a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to anticipate and adapt to change; showing initiative, flexibility and creative problem solving to produce the best opportunities for students.
Suitable applicants will have a passion for working with students with special needs and are committed to maximising their impact on student learning. You have high expectations and truly believe that all children can learn and make superb progress in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You should embrace evidence-informed strategies established across the school to meet the needs of every student. We seek enthusiastic team members who show initiative in adapting tasks to meet student needs. You should contribute advice and expertise, collaborating with staff to support student achievement. You are able to support programs relevant to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Hearing (HI) and Visual Impairment (VI), Intellectual Disability (ID), and/or other Physical Disabilities. An ability to work with students in out-of-class activities, during breaks in the school day, and on school excursions is required.
Suitable applicants should assist with the preparation and organisation of quality learning environments by maintaining equipment, materials, and resources, and assisting teachers with the clean and safe use of classroom items. You should be responsible for assisting teachers with the supervision of students for all activities and the general care and wellbeing of students, including attending to minor illnesses and/or injuries.
We seek enthusiastic team members who are committed to building their professional capacity through continuous professional learning, self-reflection, and engaging in initiatives that support improved practice.
