Brookman Primary School (PS) is located 12 kilometres from Perth in the southern suburb of Langford. The community from which Brookman draws its students has an exciting and diverse cultural mix with at least one third of students having English as a second language.

The Role
The Deputy Principal assumes a pivotal role, working closely with the Principal and the administrative team to shape the school's identity. Educational leadership is a key responsibility, involving the active development and promotion of the school's values, ethos, and priorities. The Deputy Principal champions a collaborative approach, encouraging not only staff but also volunteers and community members to actively share ownership of the school's vision and goals. This collaborative ethos extends to change management, where the Deputy Principal strategically facilitates the acceptance of change and identifies opportunities for improved service delivery.
The successful applicant will ideally possess an extensive knowledge of Early Childhood Education (ECE). You will ideally have proven and effective leadership qualities, including the capacity to strategically lead evidence-based improvements. As deputy principal, you will lead the Early Childhood Education (ECE) team implementing our operational plans, particularly focussing on Promoting Literacy Development (PLD) Seven Steps Writing, Daily Reviews and Top Ten Maths consistently across all classrooms.
As the Early Childhood Deputy Principal, it is highly desirable that you possess an extensive knowledge of disabilities and evidence-based approaches to lead staff and manage resources to provide tiered interventions, behaviour management, pastoral care, support and development programs for students. You would also be leading the case management of our students considered at educational risk through your knowledge of effective intervention, monitoring and reporting strategies. These strategies are integral to enhancing student engagement to ensure high social, emotional and educational outcomes for all students within our school context.
It is highly desirable that the successful applicant in the role has a strong knowledge and understanding of the Disability Resourcing System and can manage these human and financial resources in the best interest of the students.
Overall, the Deputy Principal serves as a key figure for educational leadership and operational effectiveness within the school and an ability to work effectively with staff, students, parents and the community is essential to this role.
