The Role

Australind SHS is seeking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic Mathematics teacher who is responsive to change and is willing to support an inclusive education, catering for a variety of learning styles across Year 7 to Year 12 Mathematics courses. There is a particular opportunity for the successful applicant to teach ATAR courses if suitably qualified.
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated Mathematics teacher with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the following:
- Plan, teach and deliver to classes in both Lower and Senior School
- Create and design face-to-face lessons with clear learning objectives and outcomes
- Use existing learning materials and develop your own as required
- Document and maintain assessment results in accordance with policies and procedures
- Evaluate and monitor student learning and course progress
- Play a role in student consultations, assessment grading and moderation
- Create an interactive and positive learning environment for students.
The successful applicant should possess the professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant Mathematics curriculum through a variety of programs that are relevant to Year 7 to Year 10 students' needs. The interest and ability to teach relevant General and ATAR courses would be a relevant skill set. You will be able to display teaching and learning strategies that support the development of sound numeracy practice within the classroom.
Graduate teachers and teachers with upper primary school experience with an interest in teaching in our Year 7 program are also encouraged to apply.

Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
