About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a school culture that promotes positive relationships between students and staff, whilst engaging parents and the wider community in the educational work of the school.
The principal is responsible for using innovation and creativity to establish systems and structures fostering academic development to nurture the social and emotional development of students, whilst engaging the school community within educational programs of the school. You will possess a commitment to continuous school improvement, and the development of high-quality teaching and learning. The principal will build strategic networks with other schools, local agencies, and services in the community to benefit school programs.
Shark Bay School is part of the Desert Coast Network and is committed to the Midwest Targeted Teaching Program based on evidence-based practice. The school has developed extensive programs to support all students including students with complex needs and students with a disability. The principal will have excellent interpersonal and public relations skills, whilst understanding the importance of working with the local community.
The principal will have a strong understanding of leading a culturally responsive school, valuing the local Aboriginal community.
The principal supports the Department’s objectives for the public education and training of students in Western Australia. The role of the principal is to lead and manage the planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of the education of all students in a community through the deployment of resources provided by the Department of Education and the school community.
