The Role
The school offers a wide range of courses across the Visual Arts that includes Specialist Arts media, Photography, Certificate II in Creative Industries and Media.
The successful applicant will ideally be a highly motivated educator with the ability to provide quality teaching in the Visual Arts curriculum area and work effectively as part of a dedicated team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with students and staff to prepare and present exhibitions throughout the school year, participate in competitions and projects that showcase student work across all Visual Arts courses. The successful applicant should be flexible, innovative, and have a passion for their curriculum area and have a knowledge and experience of instructional strategies to effectively engage students in the learning process. Additionally, you should create a supportive and positive classroom environment, with proven skills in behaviour management and evidence-based pedagogy.
We place high value on your strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, anticipating your active contribution to shaping and promoting the school's values, ethos, and priorities throughout the entire school community.
We have recently begun a formal program for aspiring leaders which includes being allocated a mentor and doing formal shadowing of that mentor throughout the school year. Teachers who aspire to leadership positions are encouraged to apply.
