The Role

We seek staff who bring a strength-based approach and who prioritise building productive relationships with students, families, and the broader community. A collaborative team approach will ensure inclusion, student voice and targeted intervention. We have a whole school approach to supporting consistency for our students at risk through a tiered approach to intervention. Training and background in the delivery of an intervention program/ model (including, but not limited to MiniLit, or MacLit) will be highly regarded. Knowledge of Zones of Regulation, as well as Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), trauma informed practices and/or a Restorative Approach will also be an advantage.
Suitable applicants will assist teaching staff in the delivery and assessment of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will work under general supervision or autonomously and contribute advice and expertise, collaborating with school community members to support student achievement. You will provide feedback when asked on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress. The ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students, as well as the ability and willingness to engage with children with challenging behaviours, is highly desirable. Applicants will ideally have a strong knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour and have experience or knowledge of neurodiversity such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Suitable applicants will assist teachers in the delivery of planned education programs, including the operation of computers and digital technologies, and implement individual student or small group programs or demonstrations. Additionally, when required, you will provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to the achievement of goals in special education with staff from the School of Special Educational Needs.

- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students well-being of students.
