The Role
At Hedland SHS we have a vibrant Arts Learning Area, with a team who promotes excellence across the arts. We have exceptional practical facilities including; the Matt Dann Cultural Centre (a theatre which seats 300 people) including a foyer area, green room and state of the art lighting/sound box.
We foster student development of arts ideas, skills and processes and creative and critical thinking through providing a range of teaching and learning strategies, and opportunities for personal growth. In this role, the successful applicant will possess knowledge of the WA dance curriculum, and can incorporate the cross-curriculum priorities and general capabilities into meaningful and engaging lessons. Knowledge and experience of the music curriculum and media arts curriculum would also be advantageous.
We provide ongoing pathways in Senior School that build students’ confidence and management in community events and performances. Such opportunities allow for students who want to enrich their learning through the Arts at Hedland SHS by participating in the school production, YohFest, music showcases, the annual Visual Arts, Media and Photography Exhibitions, music ensembles and instrumental lessons.
