We are seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and highly motivated Education Assistant - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally have effective interpersonal skills to collaborate well with the teacher to create and maintain a supportive, inclusive education program to meet the specific needs of the students. Applicants with experience and knowledge in working with students with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Diabetes, anxiety, and trauma are encouraged to apply. Suitable applicants should be experienced in supporting needs of students with self-regulation of behaviour and social and emotional responses. Experience in using a variety of strategies to develop communication and socialisation skills is also highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will assist teaching staff in the delivery of planned education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will also provide feedback when required on education and therapy programs and participate in the evaluation process relating to student progress. The ability to assist with the general health and wellbeing of students is desired.

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
