The Role
Atwell College is seeking a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join our innovative team
The successful applicant will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to promoting and fostering high levels of student engagement and academic and personal achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated. We are looking for an exceptional teacher to support our Design and Technology programme, and as such we value your leadership qualities and your ability to establish outstanding relationships with staff, students and the wider community. You should be able to display your experience and expertise in Woodwork, Metalwork and CAD as well as supporting our STEM programme through Robotics and Mechatronics
The successful applicant should be student and relationship focused, highly motivated, reflective, and innovative. They should have a firm belief that all students can reach their potential to achieve their highest educational outcomes. They should exhibit the capacity to lead within a vibrant learning community wherein students are engaged and motivated, and appropriately supported and challenged to be confident, creative, and successful learners, and active and informed community members. They should exhibit exemplary teaching and learning practices, and the ability to lead a learning culture that ongoingly strengthens the capacity of their team. They should promote a breadth of educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. Adopting inclusive practices, building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role.
The successful applicant will ideally support and contribute to the implementation of the College’s Business Plan, be committed to whole college approaches and initiatives, and have a strong evidence-based approach to pedagogy. Aligned with the strategic improvement of the College, the successful applicant should have strong knowledge and experience of high impact teaching and learning strategies within the context of a positive learning environment. They should exhibit an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and have the capacity to teach across Year Seven to Twelve to ensure all students achieve strong academic and personal growth.
