Coastal Lakes College (CLC) is an Independent Public School seeking to appoint a dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic Design and Technology teacher. The successful applicant will ideally be committed to promoting and fostering student engagement and academic achievement in a supportive environment where success is celebrated. The successful applicant for this position should be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You will work collegially within the Technologies Learning Area to promote and enhance teaching and learning across the Learning Area, especially in Design and Technology and Engineering. Engineering is a priority at the College with two pathways leading to either Certificate II in Engineering Pathways or ATAR Engineering Studies. The successful applicant should be able to promote and enhance both Advanced and General Engineering Pathways.
The ability to exhibit the professional knowledge, understanding and experience to develop and implement engaging and relevant secondary school programs in lower school areas of Wood, Metals and Engineering, along with General Senior School courses, Materials Design and Technology: Wood and Metals, Design: Technical Graphics, Building and Construction, Certificate II in Engineering Pathways and ATAR Engineering Studies is desirable. As an expert practitioner you should be able to show a commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in regular self-reflection. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to our school community through creating environments conducive to learning and providing educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.
Teachers at CLC are expected to provide integrated, personalised and authentic learning experiences for students. This will be achieved through the use of High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS), formative assessment, CMS approaches in building positive relationships and engaging families in their child’s learning. As a teacher at CLC you should commit to using our college wide pedagogical framework
The College has a strong STEAM focus, working in a collaborative partnership with local primary and secondary schools, tertiary education providers and industry. The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to develop innovative classroom practices utilising the College’s fully equipped state-of-the-art facilities and embedded twenty-first century skills within their teaching and learning to continually improve student outcomes within the school.

Coastal Lakes College located in Lakelands, a south western suburb of Perth in the City of Mandurah, opened in 2019 and caters for students in Year 7 - 10 in 2022. We are a fast growing and innovative college which includes an Inclusive Education hub for students with moderate to severe and profound disabilities and will cater for students in Years 7-12 by 2024 across the college. All successful applicants to Coastal Lakes College may potentially teach Inclusive Education students within their learning area.
