Our students come from a diverse range of social, linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The school encourages close ties with the community and collaborative learning with colleagues. A sense of community is very important at Kensington Primary School (PS). We have an active and supportive parent body, and an active and collaborative staff. We are developing our use of formative assessment to engage and respond to student needs. Active engagement in learning and collaboration are important aspects of this process. We model respectful relationships (with students, staff, and community members) and have high expectations for all students.
In order to achieve our vision, we strive for excellence through individual development of students, taking into account differing learning styles and needs. We endeavour to empower students to take responsibility for their learning, instilling in them the belief that learning is a lifelong process. We provide an attractive, caring, challenging and supportive environment in which all students are accorded respect; develop self-belief and acceptance of self.
We aim to maintain our reputation as a respected centre of learning in the local and wider community. Experienced and capable staff caters for the developmental needs of students from Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6). There is a strong commitment to providing quality learning experiences, through a collaborative focus. The school is committed to the principles and practices of inclusive education.

We are seeking to add an English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) program to this mix. Students have the opportunity to participate in our award winning choir and may participate in recorder as well as selective specialist instrumental tuition in flute, clarinet, trumpet, baritone and percussion.
