The Role
Ellenbrook SC is seeking a Head of Department- Inclusive Education, to model innovative, future-focused thinking and be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. The successful applicant should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with staff, students, parents/carers, and the wider community. To implement the whole school inclusion plan, the expertise, and organisational skills to collaboratively provide professional learning to all staff in accommodations, adjustments, and targeted intervention programs will be required. They will be required to engage in complex case management and planning to support students, liaising with the stakeholders to embed strategies, programs and teaching practices as required.
As a key member of the school’s leadership team, you will provide advice and guidance to the Executive Team regarding organisational and operational changes to enhance achievement of targets set in the school’s business plan. During planning, the ability to analyse and use student performance data to validate evidence-based programs and lead intervention, is critical.
The successful applicant will ideally provide curriculum leadership to teachers and facilitate teaching and learning outcomes through effective performance and development, modelling, and promoting a culture of improvement. You should use effective change management strategies and lead the school community to accept and develop opportunities for improved outcomes in inclusive education.
