We are seeking to establish a pool of Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
The Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO) plays a crucial role in fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for our Indigenous students. As a liaison between the school and community, the AIEO works closely with teachers, students, and families to develop culturally relevant educational programs that empower our Indigenous students to reach their full potential.

- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact on a range of levels in a variety of settings and with different audiences, including community members, teaching and other professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a school-level team and to provide multi-cultural direction in the development of the educational program, development of language resources, and evaluation of education and behaviour management programs.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively assist teachers in implementing educational and behaviour management programs.
- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs to students.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
