The Role
Broome SHS are seeking applicants who are relationship-focused, energetic and passionate about creating exciting, culturally responsive learning experiences to ignite a desire to learn in students in Health and Physical Education.
Suitable applicants will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be willing to promote the school in the broader community.
Suitable applicants will ideally be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. They will ideally be a strong communicator with excellent relationship-building skills. Suitable applicants should be self-reflective and innovative with the capacity to incorporate Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to create an environment conducive to learning. They should also have the skills to differentiate content in lessons to provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for a range of student learning needs.
Suitable applicants will ideally have training and experience in teaching Year 7 to 10 Health and Physical Education, and ideally, experience, knowledge and capacity to teach General Health Education, ATAR Physical Education and/or Outdoor Studies Education courses. A willingness to work collaboratively with others to value-add to teaching programs and resources for Health and Physical Education, and the ability to work within a team to facilitate the effective coordination of sporting carnivals, events and camps is highly essential.
The following qualities are considered highly desirable but not essential: experience teaching students with varying literacy levels, Aboriginal students, and those with Special Needs; and up to date qualifications that enhance Health and Physical Education and Outdoor Education programs, which may include Surf Rescue, Bronze Medallion, and bus licence.
