The Role
The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for the organising and supervising of school cleaning staff, including arranging relief staff, liaising with the relevant line manager on cleaning matters, carrying out cleaning of internal and external areas and including the disposal of rubbish.
The Cleaner in Charge will be required to provide on the job induction training for new cleaning staff and conduct monthly cleaning inspections with the Manager Corporate Services as well as monitoring and managing staff leave entitlements in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services.
In this role, the successful applicant will manage hazardous substances in accordance with occupational safety and health legislation, including maintaining records and ensure school facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Department procedure.
