We are seeking to establish a pool of Secondary Generalist Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies that may arise commencing Term 1, 2025, and up until the end of Term 2, 2025.
The Role
The School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and culturally responsive teachers who exhibit innovation and creativity in classroom practices and hold a strong understanding of curriculum in two or more learning areas. Successful applicants may teach a combination of lower secondary courses, as well as Foundation, General and/or ATAR courses at senior secondary level.
As a teacher at SIDE, you will be fully supported to develop your skills in online teaching, enabling you to create engaging and culturally responsive opportunities to inspire students and cater for student diversity, including students with English as an additional language/dialect, and students at educational risk.
Suitable applicants will be skilled in the use of diagnostic and student performance data to inform teaching and learning programs, have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team. Having a positive attitude with the ability to anticipate and adapt to change, and showing initiative, flexibility, and creative problem solving to produce the best opportunities for students will be highly regarded.

Teachers at SIDE participate in our regional travel program to meet the needs of students and partner schools. Visits are planned in negotiation with staff, and at times may include short-term stays in regional and remote locations.
SIDE has a main campus in Leederville and teaching facilities at Canning College, Clarkson Community High School and Northlake Senior Campus. Teachers based in the metropolitan area may be required to work at any one of these or future venues. In 2025, SIDE will also have teaching facilities at Eaton Community College to accommodate teachers living in the Southwest.
