We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. There are two permanent full time positions available for the commencement of 2025.
Beenyup Primary School (PS) proudly opened its gates in 2020 as an Independent Public School in the fast-growing town of Byford, WA, and caters for children from Kindergarten to Year Six. The name of our school acknowledges the original Noongar name of Byford and means ‘place of water’.

The Role
Suitable applicants should have strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to connect and work with parents to support each individual child’s learning journey. The ability to establish genuine, positive and caring relationships with our students, families and community is paramount. Knowledge and understanding of Positive Behaviour Support, Social and Emotional Learning and supporting students at educational risk is desirable for strong pastoral care support and a positive learning environment.
Suitable applicants will work within the executive team to lead and support whole school improvement with an emphasis on high quality teaching and learning. The leadership qualities and skills to build staff capacity and cultivate distributed leadership within a culture of high expectations is highly sought and proven experience would be advantageous. Suitable applicants should also have efficient, effective work habits and strong attention to detail.
Deputy Principals should lead and engage staff in shared beliefs about teaching and learning through a proven capacity to:
- Build and support teaching teams to deliver high impact, low variance practice aligned with our identified whole school practices.
- Focus on explicit and measurable outcomes.
- Build capabilities and capacity through implementation of Teaching for Impact, the Western Australian Curriculum and the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Engage their staff in 1:1 coaching and mentoring.
- Build teaching excellence through delivery of high-quality professional learning, classroom observation and feedback.
- Enhance the performance and development culture within the school.
