We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Suitable applicants will work with groups of high need students and should be able to apply techniques, skills, and knowledge relevant to the principles and practices in an Education Support setting. Experience working with high needs students is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally display effective communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with teachers, to assist in the delivery of planned education programs, teach small groups, and encourage a supportive and inclusive learning environment. It is highly regarded that suitable applicants have expertise in working with children with behaviour difficulties, trauma backgrounds, and intellectual disabilities. Additionally, a background in an Education Support setting, and experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) strategies, particularly Discrete Trial Training (DTT), and Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communications Handicapped Children (TEACCH) strategies would be highly advantageous.
We are seeking adaptable individuals who display the ability to work independently, as well as in a team. You will ideally possess cultural awareness and be focused on delivering programs to individuals and groups, including those students with complex needs and diagnosed disabilities.
