We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As an Education Assistant - Special Needs, under teacher direction, you will assist in targeted education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all our students.
Suitable applicants will assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs to assist students with complex communication and learning needs to reach their full potential through the development of communication, social, emotional, physical and academic skills. Using excellent interpersonal and communication skills, EASNs will collaborate with teachers and other colleagues to create an inclusive education program that accommodates the needs of all students.
Suitable applicants should possess a commitment to building positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community and ideally be able to display the ability to deliver planned education programs and contribute to the evaluation process for special education. It is desirable for applicants to possess good written and oral communication skills and be competent in the use of Information Technology (IT) to assist teachers in the classroom.
Suitable applicants who have experience with positive behaviour support; Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems, e.g. Key Word Sign, PODD (Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display); and work closely with teachers and other professionals in supporting optimal learning environments for every student are encouraged to apply.

- Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well being of students.
