The Role
The successful applicant should possess the professional knowledge, understanding, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant Mathematics curriculum through finely crafted programs that emphasises both practical and theoretical knowledge and is tailored to student needs and interests. This position entails the ability to access data to differentiate curriculum, embed cross curricular focuses, including the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), DigiTech, and implement innovative approaches to improve outcomes using multi-age group planning. You would build positive relationships with students while focusing on their strengths. A sense of adventure is desired to harness your passion for educating our students to help them determine and develop future pathways.
You would ideally be highly motivated, student and relationship focused, and able to provide engaging, data driven, and meaningful learning experiences. You should utilise research-informed initiatives and be able to work effectively within a dynamic team. This should involve reflecting upon and assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice, as well as cultivating a safe learning environment, underpinned by our core values of Consider, Aspire, Respect and Engage. As we continue our focus on Social and Emotional Learning, it is imperative for the successful applicant to incorporate strategies that support students to develop competencies which including, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Donnybrook District High School in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $5,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
