The Role
We are seeking a Japanese Second Languages Teacher who has outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate effectively and build genuine relationships with parents, students, and staff members. An ability to deliver Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Japanese Second Language courses is desirable. The role will also involve coordinating the Leeming SHS Japanese Specialist Program in Yrs 7 to 10. The successful applicant will establish a positive and welcoming classroom environment with high expectations and impactful teaching practices, while building students’ positive social and emotional skills. They will ideally possess exemplary teaching skills, be highly motivated and hold themselves accountable to delivering best practice. They will demonstrate the ability to work in an environment characterised by whole school connected practice, collaborative team structures and a strong commitment to professional growth.
An in depth understanding of the Western Australian Languages Curriculum is necessary as is the ability to demonstrate the use of contemporary pedagogical practices to support second language learning.
