The Role
The successful applicant should be able to teach a range of courses in the variety of Design & Technology contexts, including vocational courses and senior secondary level courses plus the ability to teach in multiple contexts offered wood, metal and engineering (mechatronics) & digital technologies.
The successful applicant will ideally be a motivated teacher passionate about shaping students’ futures. They should possess excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics. Strong knowledge and skills in the delivery of one or more Senior Secondary courses is desirable. As a reflective practitioner, the successful applicant should possess effective data literacy knowledge and skills; and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, including integration of information technology into the curriculum, will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will ideally provide excellence in creating and maintaining a supportive and safe learning environment. They should provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. They should recognise students as individuals and foster opportunities for all students to develop into effective young adults.
