The Role
The successful applicant will be a passionate teacher of Health and Physical Education (HPE), with a commitment to high expectations for all students. Applicants should be able to show innovative and inclusive classroom practice, cultivating a safe and supportive learning environment for students of varying ages and ability levels. The successful applicant will ideally be highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment.
You should provide students with purposeful and engaging learning experiences to develop their skills, knowledge, and understandings related to Health and Physical Education, supported by a variety of approaches to learning. You will ideally possess excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills that allow you to build and maintain collaborative and respectful partnerships across the school and the wider community.
We have the resources to start an exciting bicycle education program and are just waiting for the right, enthusiastic HPE teacher to roll this out!
In the first instance, only applicants with teaching qualifications will be considered. Where there are no suitable applicants with teaching qualifications, applicants in the last 6-12 months of their teaching degree may be considered.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Meekatharra District High School in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $17,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
