The Role
Comet Bay College is seeking to appoint a qualified and passionate Home Economics Teacher.
At Comet Bay College, we strive for excellence by nurturing individual abilities, providing meaningful opportunities and fostering positive, respectful relationships.
The successful applicant will ideally have experience teaching a range of Design Technologies – Food, Childcare and Textiles contexts, and preferably also have experience teaching Certificate II Hospitality. Ideally, experience in teaching the Western Australian Curriculum and Senior School Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) Technologies courses to help our students achieve outstanding results is highly desirable.
As a Home Economics Teacher, you will ideally be student and relationship-focused. Ideally, you would be highly motivated, innovative, and possess good interpersonal and teamwork skills to work effectively in a team environment. The ability to create an engaging and energetic environment through different teaching styles will be viewed favourably.
As a teacher, the ability to reflect and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practice using various methods available within the College is important. Teachers who promote an environment of active and positive learning and provide educational opportunities and activities enabling students to achieve their highest potential are encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant may also be given the opportunity to work across Years 7 to 12 and bring their expertise to the Learning Area by applying their knowledge of the Home Economics Courses..
