The Role
Woodvale SC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Assistant to join their friendly team.
The Design and Technology Assistant will work under the direction of the Head of Technology Learning Area and the Teacher in Charge of Design and Technology, preparing classrooms and workshops for lessons so that the teachers in the area are able to effectively instruct students.
You would prepare specialised equipment and teaching aids, and provide operational advice for Design and Technology workshops, classes and demonstrations that meet standards that support teaching and curriculum requirements. In this role you will ideally maintain, evaluate and assess technical equipment (CNC machinery would be advantageous but not required), carry out repairs and maintenance on workshop equipment and arrange with the school’s finance team to undertake off-site repairs as needed. The successful applicant may also be asked to assist with the ordering of workshop supplies where required. The successful applicant may also be required to design and construct teaching aids to
The successful applicant will need to have a sound knowledge of the Work, Health and Safety requirements regarding the storage and recording of chemicals, tools and maintenance schedules and of stock-taking procedures. They should have well developed interpersonal skills to assist in fostering positive and effective relationships with staff and students.
