About the Role
Hedland Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a proactive, dedicated and enthusiastic principal to lead the school in 2025.
The leadership at Hedland SHS requires an enthusiastic leader who is passionate and highly effective in leading whole school improvement through a culturally responsive lens. The principal will create and sustain a student-centred learning environment built on strong relationships with the local community, working collaboratively to implement strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and their families. They will communicate effectively and vary leadership styles to obtain the best outcomes while modelling and promoting the school’s vision, mission, and values.
The successful applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills and promote effective and distributed leadership within the school. They will promote and foster academic aspiration and engagement in an environment where achievement is celebrated. Collaborating with staff, students, parents and local cultural leaders, they will implement whole school policies, processes, and procedures, embedding a culture of professional leadership, trust, and continuous improvement for all our students and staff. The successful applicant will be a resilient and agile leader with a growth mindset.

Hedland SHS is an Independent Public School located in the Pilbara and caters for students from year 7 to 12.
