Allendale Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Early Childhood Education Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Suitable applicants will demonstrate professional integrity at all times and be committed to adopting ‘the Allendale way’ of teaching, particularly in the core curriculum areas. Lowering the cognitive load of our students and providing the conditions for long term information retention are clear and ongoing focuses of our school. Improving student outcomes is at the centre of everything we do.
Only applicants whose pedagogical beliefs are centred on evidence-based teaching practices and high impact instructional strategies will be considered competitive.
School leaders at Allendale PS have worked hard to create the conditions for effective teaching across the school. Teachers at our school must be committed to a culture of high performance, working with our instructional coach to improve your teaching practice is non-negotiable. To help support their improvement journey, Allendale PS teachers:
- have reduced lesson/long term planning commitments due to in-built whole school approaches.
- receive additional DOTT time to work with instructional coaches and curriculum leaders.
- are not expected to work outside of regular business hours.

The Role
Suitable applicants may be offered teaching positions from Kindergarten to Year 2 and will be supported by curriculum leaders and our instructional coach to deliver highly structured English and Maths blocks with fidelity and rigour.
Opportunities to consolidate key English and Maths skills through inquiry and real-life application will be frequent by following the whole school APS Connected Curriculum planner.
Allendale PS uses the UFLI Phonics, Heggerty Phonemic Awareness and PR1ME Mathematics programs in ECE and is a Positive Behaviour Support school. Teachers in ECE deliver Literature Based Knowledge Units (LBKU’s) to consolidate vocabulary, syntax and comprehension skills and knowledge. Experience with these approaches would be beneficial.
