We are seeking to establish a pool of Library Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As a Library Officer you will be responsible for the provision of reference information and maintaining the resources, environment and associated services of the school library to support the learning outcomes of students. The Library Officer also administers the library systems ensuring library records are up to date and library resources are maintained and processed so they are accessible and available to students and staff at all times Suitable applicants will ideally have well-developed organisational skills, be competent in using computerised systems and have the ability to prioritise work. An excellent working knowledge of Schools Information System (SIS), Saron Education Quality Teachers Assistant (SEQTA), Accessit Library and Bookit would be highly desirable.
The suitable applicants should be able to inspire students with a love of reading, create a welcoming atmosphere in the library and collaborate with other staff to promote reading throughout the school. The suitable applicants should be great communicators who are approachable and able to display the capacity to work cooperatively with others to create a welcoming and vibrant library environment for students and families. A love of books and a sound understanding of library systems, processes and stocktakes would be an advantage.
