The Role
The Cleaner in Charge should take pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness ensuring school facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Department procedure to provide a visually pleasing and safe learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors to the school. They will organise and order stock and equipment as well as manage hazardous materials and the Material Safety Data Sheet.
The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for organising and supervising the school cleaning staff including the relief for staff on leave, rosters and highlighting issues and concerns on behalf of cleaners, They will manage cleaners time books and organise on the job training of new and current cleaning staff. They will work as a team with school staff and manage staff performance in consultation with the Manager Corporate Services.
The successful applicant should have strong interpersonal and team motivational skills and be happy to receive and carry out instructions as required. As Cleaner in Charge you should be well organised and have good record keeping skills.
