This is a 6 month fixed term, part-time (0.8 FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2024 with possible extension and/or permanency
Dalyellup College features contemporary, state-of-the-art facilities, located in the community of Dalyellup on the outskirts of Bunbury in the Capel Shire. It is an Independent Public School catering for approximately 700 secondary students from Year 7 to 12. The community of Dalyellup (‘a village in the forest by the sea’) is growing, with new land and homes being built. The College forms part of an Independent Public Schools Cluster together with Dalyellup Primary School, Tuart Forest Primary School, and Capel Primary School.

The Role
As a Senior Gardener - Handyperson working knowledge of current Occupational Health and Safety policies is highly regarded to provide students and staff with a safe external environment. You will ideally have experience in servicing horticultural, gardening and cleaning equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as those on irrigation systems, minor plumbing tasks, maintenance, carpentry tasks and assisting with the setup of school events.
To be successful in this role you will possess knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals, high standard leadership skills in coordinating staff duties, rostered days off (RDOs) and leave in accordance with the Department of Education policies and guidelines.
