This is a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 4 2024.
North Parmelia Primary School (PS) is situated in the north-east corner of the City of Kwinana. The community is diverse in nature, with families from many cultures and backgrounds.
Over the last 5 years, North Parmelia PS has achieved the most positive results it has attained in living memory. These results have been achieved on a range of measures including NAPLAN, measures of socio-emotional and behavioural well-being and a range of school surveys. North Parmelia PS is demonstrably a very successful school. This success can be attributed to the highly professional, committed and stable staff, the excellent levels of resourcing and the commitment of staff to a common curriculum approach that is being implemented from Kindergarten to Year 6. The Role
North Parmelia PS is seeking a committed and proactive individual to fill the position of Deputy Principal.
North Parmelia PS has an explicit improvement agenda in the way we support our students and deliver educational outcomes for our community. We are building a multi-tiered system of support to underpin our approach and ensure high expectations pedagogy is delivered across all of our classrooms. The successful applicant will work closely with the leadership team to provide educational leadership in the school and community. A significant responsibility of the Deputy Principal is to embed and maintain aspects of the school culture that promote positive relationships between students and staff and, engaging parents and caregivers and the wider community in the educational work of the school. The successful applicant will ideally use effective change management strategies to assist the school community to accept and develop opportunities for improved service.
Applicants will ideally possess an understanding of the Multi-Tiered System of Support, working with complex behaviours and an understanding of the Positive Behaviour Support framework and implementation. Strengths in behaviour and instructional leadership and coaching are highly desirable.
