Brabham East Primary School (planning name) is seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Brabham East Primary School (planning name) is situated on Noongar Whadjuk Boodjhar and opens for Kindy to Year 6 students in 2025. The school is projected to open with 250 students and will cater for 540 students. Our school community includes families of different backgrounds and cultures, many from overseas where English is not the first language or dialect spoken at home.

The Role
As a school officer, you will be the first point of contact for our students, families, staff and community and as such, a strong focus on customer service is key to this role. Suitable applicants should be professional, positive and friendly, with well-developed communication skills. The ideal candidates should work well in a team environment, display initiative and approach challenges with a growth mindset. Suitable applicants will possess strong organisational skills, a high level of attention to detail with great flexibility to move between tasks and different environments within our school and be able to deliver priority outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Suitable applicants will be responsible for completing administrative duties including greeting all visitors, answering the telephone and responding to routine enquiries and requests for information. In addition, you should support student-related activities such as assisting with student enrolment procedures and operating a range of software packages including Integris, Compass, RM Billing and Microsoft Office Suite
Suitable applicants will form an integral part of the Student Services role, and this includes supporting individual students with first aid and medication as required, student absences, communication between school and families for behavioural, social, and emotional needs on a daily basis. Handling and developing complex enrolment processes for students and communicating effectively with families who may speak English as an additional language. Previous experience and knowledge of EALD, visa and citizen requirements whilst handling complex enrolments would be highly desirable. You may also assist with initiatives to support the Executive Team, including but not limited to census, establishment of classes, new family onboarding and communication with the broader community.
