The Role
Eaton Community College (CC) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Principal who is committed to achieving outstanding educational outcomes for all students.
The Deputy Principal will work closely with the Principal and Executive Team to promote the college’s vision and values in the community and have proven success in leading highly effective teams to drive college priorities and school improvement.
The successful applicant can think and plan strategically to identify innovative and practical solutions to problems and challenges and work collaboratively with the wider community to bring people together to support our students to achieve their full potential. As a Deputy Principal at Eaton CC you will use your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain collaborative and respectful partnerships that supports a positive school culture.
The successful applicant will use effective change management strategies to lead the College community to continually reflect on practices and data, and to develop opportunities for improvement and strengthen a culture that values quality teaching that supports student learning. Your leadership skills will be used to ensure an effective team approach to enhancing the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students through contemporary, strategic, and targeted intervention.
The successful applicant will ideally have knowledge of and experience in a range of leadership and management areas – such as student service provision, whole school teaching and learning, curriculum provision, human resource management, ICT, special needs, scheduling, senior school requirements, VET and cohort oversight.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Eaton Community College in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $5,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
