We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers - English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Thornlie Primary School (PS) is a Level 5 Public Primary School with approximately 390 Kindergarten to Year 6 students including an Intensive English Centre for students in years 1 to 6. It is situated on Thornlie Avenue 15 kilometres east of Perth in Western Australia.

The Role
The suitable applicants should possess competency in teaching students of varying ability and English language proficiency in a highly engaging manner. They should be dedicated and highly motivated educators with the ability to develop quality teaching and learning programs across all learning areas to develop the students’ language and literacy needs. The suitable applicants should have a passion for working with overseas students, including humanitarian visa holders.
The suitable applicants should also have a strong knowledge of teaching strategies to support language acquisition through subject content. Further, experience in teaching phonics and phonemic awareness, a sound knowledge of, and explicit teaching in grammar, reading comprehension, oral language, and writing is also desirable.
