The Role
Broome Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated professional to lead the Vocational Education and Training team during 2025 and beyond.
As the Program Coordinator – Careers and Vocational Education (CAVE), you will join an outstanding team who are making a significant difference to our students. We are seeking an individual with the highest level of interpersonal and leadership skills, to lead, empower and bring the best out in staff. As well as leading and managing the CAVE Learning Area, you will also be part of the school's leadership group, so your ability to be a part of and contribute to the school's collaborative culture, vision and future is of equal importance. Ideally you will possess the capacity to form constructive professional relationships within such a group with the aim of making and implementing decisions that improve the educational outcomes of all Broome SHS students.
The role requires significant knowledge of Vocational Education and Training and Workplace Learning programs and the ability to facilitate school/industry partnerships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders would be highly advantageous. The role would suit an individual with developed organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and identify priorities.
The Program Coordinator – CAVE role is multi-dimensional. As well as the leadership and management of Careers and VET programs and staff, you will lead the course counselling team for incoming Year 11 students, perform progress interviews with Year 11/12 VET and General students and manage SCSA requirements including overseeing SIRS uploads and the monitoring of WACE Activity Schedules. A teaching load of 0.4FTE will also be part of this role in 2025.

You will lead and contribute to team, whole school and Cluster strategic direction and planning to meet the needs of the students of the Broome Cluster schools.

Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
