We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Primary for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year commencing term 4 2024 and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Victoria Park Primary School (PS) is an inner-city school situated near the Swan River in Victoria Park, some five minutes from the city. The school was opened in 1894 making it one of the oldest built by the Department of Education. Due to its historical significance the buildings at Victoria Park Primary School have been heritage listed by the Heritage Council.
Our School has recently undergone some significant capital works that has provided us with a brand-new state of the art early childhood teaching block. This new building has allowed the school to provide 21st century learning opportunities to all our students. Our very unique school now showcases 130 year old heritage listed learning spaces and flows into buildings designed to cater for the future needs of our students.

The Role
We are seeking innovative and resourceful teachers who are committed to working with phase of learning teams to deliver low variability in teaching and learning. Suitable applicants will be committed to our whole school collaborative approach with a demonstrated history of working well in a team environment.
Suitable applicants will have outstanding interpersonal skills and the capacity to build highly effective working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. They will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess a high level of emotional intelligence. Applicants who are able to demonstrate the ability to use initiative to solve problems and be creative in their approach to challenges in a high-performance environment will be highly regarded.
It is highly desirable for applicants to have experience in a wide range of pedagogical strategies as outlined in the Teaching for Impact document and an understanding of synthetic phonics instruction. We are seeking applicants who use data to inform teaching and learning programs to differentiate instruction and target student improvement at point of need.
The positive learning environment you create will ideally be engaging, challenging, caring, and cater for a range of needs which promote student progress and achievement. You should utilise effective behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly, and learning-focused classroom. Experience working with EAL/D students is desirable.
Suitable applicants will ideally be committed to their own professional learning to ensure they maintain and build on contemporary, evidence-based approaches. This will include reflective teaching practices through active participation in a culture of professional growth including coaching, classroom observation and feedback. Additionally, applicants with capacity to provide educational leadership in the school through participative decision making and a commitment to self-development to improve professional practice, will be highly regarded.
