We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Oakwood Primary School (PS) opened for Pre-Primary and Kindergarten students in 2018 and extended from Kindergarten to Year 6 in 2019 in purpose built, modern facilities. The school services the suburbs of Meadow Springs, Madora Bay and San Remo and is an Independent Public School. The school has a strong sense of community engagement and aims to provide a dynamic learning environment that is positive, inclusive and underpinned by strong values.

The Role
Oakwood PS is a large primary school and leader in public education with over 900 students with a busy and vibrant front office. The School Officer is the first point of contact and suitable applicants should have a friendly, welcoming, calm and positive manner with exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with all stakeholders of the school and community.
The suitable applicants will ideally have a good understanding of relevant systems within a busy primary school business context. You should possess a willingness to adapt and an eagerness to learn new skills. You should also have excellent organisational skills, possess the ability to keep to timelines in their day to day working environment and be a supportive, capable team member. Attention to detail and working within the Department of Education's procedures and processes is highly desirable.
You should have relevant experience and capacity to undertake a wide range of support to the Manager Corporate Services to a high standard including, but not limited to; maintaining the school’s facilities, and databases including reporting faults, assisting with stocktakes and updating asset and resources registers. In addition, you will support the administration and compliance of the financial records for the school including undertaking account management, invoice processing, end of month and financial year procedures, Human Resource Information System (HRMIS), Integris, and Resource Manager (RM) Billing. Other specific duties will include marketing and the compilation of the school newsletter, uploading this and other documents to the school website and other platforms.
