Heathridge Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise from Week 6, Term 3, 2024 through to the end of the 2025 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time within this period.

We are a small, family-oriented school catering for approximately 210 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, with about 20% of students being diagnosed with Autism. A team of dedicated and professional teaching and non-teaching staff are committed to meeting the needs of students and the school community, including a Specialised Learning Program for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The Role
Suitable applicants will be required to create an inspiring and engaging learning environment that instils in each child a lifelong love of learning. The ability to build a strong value-based classroom environment where interactions are positive and rewarding for all is desirable. Having excellent interpersonal skills and being able to relate positively with all members of the school community is highly desirable.
A deep understanding of how to differentiate for individual learning styles and provide a developmentally appropriate learning program will be considered an advantage. Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and have a pedagogy built on research-based best practice with a clear understanding of the principles of teaching, learning and assessment. Literacy and Numeracy development are priorities, as is an understanding of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and its application within the classroom to provide students with digital literacy.
Applicants with knowledge, experience and skills in flexible seating, iPads, catering for children with ASD, Talk for Reading, Talk for Writing, Stepping Stones Maths, Diana Rigg’s PLD Phonics Program, implementing mindfulness, Zones of Regulation, and play-based learning will be considered favourably.
